Starting the color process. I'm about to level the top finish. It's a
spirit varnish mixed with dye to seal the top prior to the burst. The
back and neck are just dyed, but I did use a sanding sealer on the
neck. I was quite surprised the flame popped out in the neck like it
did.
Getting down to the real hard
part, waiting for stuff to dry and
cure out.
#2 in progress...
An F hole carved Cedar top with a one piece Maple back.
I wish the camera could show better, but the top is tight grained and
covered with Bear claw (silking).
DONE!
Just about ready to start carving out the insides.
We've come a
long way from
this.
Off to a good start but I'm dreading
the maple. It's real hard.
