My first of several scratch builds are in progress.
Planned are:
Two point semi flat top with cherry back and sides
Two point carved Cedar with Maple back and sides
F style carved with Red Spruce and Maple back
and sides
I'll be starting with the flat top. This is an inexpensive skill builder for the other more
complicated projects. The top is quarter sawn Cedar, the back 1/4" x  5" cherry
stock, and the neck is three piece poplar.  These will be planed down and
somewhat carved.

I've joined the back and top and cut and sanded the sides.  I  made a side bending
jig and form, ala Siminoff, and started bending the sides. I'll need a smaller pipe for
the curve on the points.
The points are giving me fits to bend.  I made a jig to pre-bend them better and allow
them to conform.  Slower going, but less frustrating.
After a 3 month break due to the move to Kerrville, I'm back at it.  The sides are
bent on both two points and both necks are rough cut out.  I scrapped the Poplar
neck and cut another out of Maple.
In the white as they say.  The bridge is hand made
from ebony, standard stamped tail piece, and Grover
tuners.  Lots of detail work to do before stain and
finish.  This little thing sounds pretty good for just a
few hours strung up.
